Pomrim
Overview
Advent Map 6 - , The Winter World · 2k, Java, Bedrock, Survival, Download
Pomrim is a small island... its 2km by 2km by McMeddon. It's an Island that is "shaped like the number six". A frozen world, under ice and snow arises. Survive between the spruce woods along the snowcovered peeks and the frozen plates in the see. Settle along the little rivers that come down the snowy mountains and set up a fire, because it gets frosty on this map. Custom forests, rivers, sea´s, mountains, plains and oceans await you. Caves
What this world's caves are made of, by volume, measured from the save in 4 block cells.
- Normal Caves 99.6%
- Magma Caves 0.4%
Inferred. These have no biome of their own in Minecraft, so they are named from the blocks around the cave rather than read from the save.

Questions about Pomrim
- What is Pomrim?
-
Pomrim is a hand-made survival world of 2,560 × 2,560 blocks, made with WorldPainter, World Machine, Gaea, Axiom and WorldEdit, built for Minecraft Java 1.16.1. You download the world folder and play it like any other save, in singleplayer or on your own server.
- How big is Pomrim?
-
2,560 × 2,560 blocks, so about 7 million blocks of surface. Walking from one edge to the other takes roughly 10 minutes at normal walking speed. The terrain runs from Y 0 to Y 255.
Outside that area the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so you never hit a wall, you just leave the built part behind.
- Which Minecraft version does Pomrim need?
-
Pomrim is built for Minecraft Java 1.16.1. Newer releases normally open it fine. Opening it in an older release is not supported: blocks and structures added after that version cannot load, and the world can be damaged by the attempt.
Bedrock players need a converted copy. See the Bedrock notes in the FAQ.
- Which biomes are in Pomrim?
-
7 in total. The land is mostly Snowy Plains (86.6%), Plains (13.3%) and Beach (0.0%), counted as shares of the land rather than of the whole map.
Water covers 77.8% of the map, and land 22.2%.
By volume this world's caves are Normal Caves (99.6%) and Magma Caves (0.4%). The cave breakdown has the rest.
The full breakdown is further up this page, with every biome and its share.
- Which structures are in Pomrim?
-
2 of the 19 structure types the scan checks are confirmed present: surface (0/7), underground (2/6), ocean (0/4), portal structures (0/1) and settlements (0/1).
Not confirmed: Desert pyramids (not checked), Igloos (not checked), Jungle pyramids (not checked), Pillager outposts (not checked), Swamp huts (not checked) and Trail ruins (not checked). "Searched, not found" means the scan looked and came up empty; "not checked" means it has not been looked for yet.
The structure list above names every one of them.
- Is Pomrim ready to play in survival?
-
Yes. A scan of the world file confirms loot tables, structures and ores, so the survival loop runs from the first night: chests hold the game's real loot tables, mobs spawn as they do anywhere else, and you can mine, farm and build without adding anything. It plays in vanilla Minecraft, with no mods, no datapacks and no creative mode.
The scan did not see animals in this export. That means it did not find any, not that none can be found or bred here.
The world contents report at the bottom of this page holds the item-by-item detail.
- Where do I download Pomrim?
-
From the download link on Patreon, also on the button at the top of this page.
Also available: the PlanetMinecraft project page, which carries the release notes and the known issues for this particular build.
- Can I look at Pomrim before downloading it?
-
Yes. Open it in the 3D explorer and fly the real terrain in your browser, with the biomes, the caves and the marked structures. Nothing to install.
How do I install Pomrim on Java Edition?
- Unpack the archive you downloaded from Patreon.
- Open your saves folder. On Windows press
Win+Rand enter%appdata%\.minecraft\saves. On macOS it is~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves, on Linux~/.minecraft/saves. - Move the unpacked folder in. It must be the folder that contains
level.dat, not a folder wrapping it. - Restart Minecraft on 1.16.1 or newer and pick the world in singleplayer.
Can I play it on Bedrock, or on a server?
Bedrock needs a converted .mcworld copy, and converted worlds carry their own
quirks around spawn, chests and villagers.
For a server, drop the world folder in as the server's world and start it.
What may I do with it?
