Halvion
Overview
Advent Map 10 · 3k, Survival, Download: Java & Bedrock
Halvion is a realistic island... it's 3 km by 3 km made by McMeddon. It's an Island that is "originally shaped like the number ten". But hardly eroded and transformed in the creation process. A custom realistic Nordic world with forests, a rough snowy mountain and new vegetation. The custom shape enables many beaches, little sandbanks islands and multiple bay areas. River flow from the mountains all the way to the sea, that cross through the huge plains of this island. X Patreon Village included (coming in next update but I'm short on time currently) X structures or strongholds (coming in next update but I'm short on time currently)

Questions about Halvion
- What is Halvion?
-
Halvion is a hand-made survival world of 3,072 × 3,072 blocks, made with WorldPainter, World Machine, Gaea, Axiom and WorldEdit, built for Minecraft Java 1.14. You download the world folder and play it like any other save, in singleplayer or on your own server.
- How big is Halvion?
-
3,072 × 3,072 blocks, so about 9 million blocks of surface. Walking from one edge to the other takes roughly 12 minutes at normal walking speed. The terrain runs from Y 0 to Y 255.
Outside that area the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so you never hit a wall, you just leave the built part behind.
- Which Minecraft version does Halvion need?
-
Halvion is built for Minecraft Java 1.14. Newer releases normally open it fine. Opening it in an older release is not supported: blocks and structures added after that version cannot load, and the world can be damaged by the attempt.
Bedrock players need a converted copy. See the Bedrock notes in the FAQ.
- Which biomes are in Halvion?
-
6 in total. The land is mostly Plains (77.1%), Snowy Plains (19.3%) and Beach (3.6%), counted as shares of the land rather than of the whole map.
Water covers 43.5% of the map, and land 56.5%.
By volume this world's caves are Normal Caves (100.0%). The cave breakdown has the rest.
The full breakdown is further up this page, with every biome and its share.
- Which structures are in Halvion?
-
0 of the 19 structure types the scan checks are confirmed present: surface (0/7), underground (0/6), ocean (0/4), portal structures (0/1) and settlements (0/1).
Not confirmed: Desert pyramids (not checked), Igloos (not checked), Jungle pyramids (not checked), Pillager outposts (not checked), Swamp huts (not checked) and Trail ruins (not checked). "Searched, not found" means the scan looked and came up empty; "not checked" means it has not been looked for yet.
The structure list above names every one of them.
- What does the scan confirm is in Halvion?
-
A scan of the world file confirms ores and plants.
Not confirmed in this export: biomes, structures, animals, loot and caves. That means the scan did not find any, not that there are none.
The world contents report at the bottom of this page holds the item-by-item detail.
- Where do I download Halvion?
-
From the download link on Patreon, also on the button at the top of this page.
Also available: the PlanetMinecraft project page, which carries the release notes and the known issues for this particular build.
- Can I look at Halvion before downloading it?
-
Yes. Open it in the 3D explorer and fly the real terrain in your browser, with the biomes, the caves and the marked structures. Nothing to install.
How do I install Halvion on Java Edition?
- Unpack the archive you downloaded from Patreon.
- Open your saves folder. On Windows press
Win+Rand enter%appdata%\.minecraft\saves. On macOS it is~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves, on Linux~/.minecraft/saves. - Move the unpacked folder in. It must be the folder that contains
level.dat, not a folder wrapping it. - Restart Minecraft on 1.14 or newer and pick the world in singleplayer.
Can I play it on Bedrock, or on a server?
Bedrock needs a converted .mcworld copy, and converted worlds carry their own
quirks around spawn, chests and villagers.
For a server, drop the world folder in as the server's world and start it.
What may I do with it?
The worlds are released under CC BY-NC 4.0. The Rights panel on this page lists what that allows and how to credit it.
