Overview

Advent Map 23 Flower Paradise Map · 5k, Download: Java & Bedrock

Habiday is a realistic Minecraft island... it's 5 km by 5 km made by McMeddon. It's an Island that is "originally shaped like the number twentythree". But hardly eroded and transformed in the creation process. A custom realistic mega multi biome world with a huge mountain range, forests, mixed spruce & oak trees, huge cliffs, plains, a dry graveled coast and custom vegetation. Rivers that flow from the mountains all the way to the sea, which crosses through the huge plains of this island. And a huge Village with dozens of Citizens. Take a boat and cross the ocean with a near-seamless transition to the default Minecraft

Biome composition

Shares are measured across the built map. Past its edge the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so biomes missing from this list can still be found out there.

Land 42.5% of map

  • Plains 70.8%
  • Snowy Plains 14.6%
  • Forest 12.5%
  • Beach 2.1%

Water 57.5% of map

  • Ocean 89.9%
  • River 10.1%
  • Deep Ocean <0.1%

Caves

27.6% of the underground

What this world's caves are made of, by volume, measured from the save in 4 block cells.

  • Normal Caves 99.7%
  • Magma Caves 0.3%

Inferred. These have no biome of their own in Minecraft, so they are named from the blocks around the cave rather than read from the save.

Questions about Habiday

What is Habiday?

Habiday is a hand-made survival world of 5,120 × 5,120 blocks, made with WorldPainter, World Machine, Gaea, Axiom and WorldEdit, built for Minecraft Java 1.16.4. You download the world folder and play it like any other save, in singleplayer or on your own server.

How big is Habiday?

5,120 × 5,120 blocks, so about 26 million blocks of surface. Walking from one edge to the other takes roughly 20 minutes at normal walking speed. The terrain runs from Y 0 to Y 255.

Outside that area the world keeps generating normal vanilla Minecraft chunks, so you never hit a wall, you just leave the built part behind.

Which Minecraft version does Habiday need?

Habiday is built for Minecraft Java 1.16.4. Newer releases normally open it fine. Opening it in an older release is not supported: blocks and structures added after that version cannot load, and the world can be damaged by the attempt.

Bedrock players need a converted copy. See the Bedrock notes in the FAQ.

Which biomes are in Habiday?

7 in total. The land is mostly Plains (70.8%), Snowy Plains (14.6%), Forest (12.5%) and Beach (2.1%), counted as shares of the land rather than of the whole map.

Water covers 57.5% of the map, and land 42.5%.

By volume this world's caves are Normal Caves (99.7%) and Magma Caves (0.3%). The cave breakdown has the rest.

The full breakdown is further up this page, with every biome and its share.

Which structures are in Habiday?

2 of the 19 structure types the scan checks are confirmed present: surface (0/7), underground (2/6), ocean (0/4), portal structures (0/1) and settlements (0/1).

Not confirmed: Desert pyramids (not checked), Igloos (not checked), Jungle pyramids (not checked), Pillager outposts (not checked), Swamp huts (not checked) and Trail ruins (not checked). "Searched, not found" means the scan looked and came up empty; "not checked" means it has not been looked for yet.

The structure list above names every one of them.

Is Habiday ready to play in survival?

Yes. A scan of the world file confirms loot tables, structures and ores, so the survival loop runs from the first night: chests hold the game's real loot tables, mobs spawn as they do anywhere else, and you can mine, farm and build without adding anything. It plays in vanilla Minecraft, with no mods, no datapacks and no creative mode.

The scan did not see animals in this export. That means it did not find any, not that none can be found or bred here.

The world contents report at the bottom of this page holds the item-by-item detail.

Where do I download Habiday?

From the download link on Patreon, also on the button at the top of this page.

Also available: the PlanetMinecraft project page, which carries the release notes and the known issues for this particular build.

Can I look at Habiday before downloading it?

Yes. Open it in the 3D explorer and fly the real terrain in your browser, with the biomes, the caves and the marked structures. Nothing to install.

How do I install Habiday on Java Edition?

  1. Unpack the archive you downloaded from Patreon.
  2. Open your saves folder. On Windows press Win + R and enter %appdata%\.minecraft\saves. On macOS it is ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves, on Linux ~/.minecraft/saves.
  3. Move the unpacked folder in. It must be the folder that contains level.dat, not a folder wrapping it.
  4. Restart Minecraft on 1.16.4 or newer and pick the world in singleplayer.

Can I play it on Bedrock, or on a server?

Bedrock needs a converted .mcworld copy, and converted worlds carry their own quirks around spawn, chests and villagers.

For a server, drop the world folder in as the server's world and start it.
